[Guadalajara, Jal. June 30, 2018] The Rhizome Center for Migrants (www.rhizomecenter.org) has partnered with Guanajuato-based Dream in México (http://dreaminmexico.org) to dispel immigration myths regarding legal reentry into the U.S.
Dream in México is a Mexican nonprofit organization connecting immigrant youth with educational and employment opportunities in Mexico. “There is a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of confusion,” said Daniel Arenas, founder of Dream in México. “People are desperate to know what their options are and when they will be able to see their families again.”
“We are committed to working with transnational, mixed-status families to help them understand what their immigration options are,” said Tran Dang, founder of The Rhizome Center for Migrants, a U.S.-based nonprofit with a project in Guadalajara, Jal. providing reintegration and legal support to repatriated Mexicans and deportees.
The following guide, provided in English and Spanish, is the first collaborative effort between the two organizations, and includes questions raised by the Dream in México community, as well as The Rhizome Center for Migrants’ legal responses.
