September 21, 2022]<\/strong> Al Centro Rizoma del Migrante (<a href=\"https:\/\/rhizomecenter.org\/es\/\">www.rhizomecenter.org<\/a>) is thrilled to announce Abigail Thornton&#8217;s addition as the newest member of our board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abigail &#8220;Abi&#8221; is an expert on migration, education, and community development with extensive field experience along the U.S.-Mexico border. From 2015-2020, Abi conducted ethnographic research at Casa del Migrante Tijuana&#8217;s shelter and helped to found Puente TJ, a deportee-led support group. We&#8217;re excited to have Abi join us as we assess effective programming for increasing college opportunities for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bakerinstitute.org\/research\/us-citizens-in-mexico-displaced-without-protection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">de facto deported U.S. citizens<\/a> now residing in Mexico. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Guadalajara, Jal.
